The Danish krone (DKK) is the currency of Denmark and its territories, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. It is subdivided into 100 øre. The National Bank of Denmark issues the currency. The krone is pegged to the euro within the ERM II exchange rate mechanism. Denmark is a member of the European Union but has opted out of adopting the euro.
